Carpenters Group CEO Donna Richards has reflected on the importance of Pride, highlighting the need for continued focus on inclusion, visibility and support across both workplaces and wider society.

In the latest article that forms part of her CEO Insights series, Donna explores how Pride remains an important moment not just for celebration, but for recognising that progress cannot be taken for granted. She discusses the evolving conversations around identity and belonging, and the responsibility organisations have to create environments where people feel respected and supported.

Drawing on both her professional role and personal experience, Donna shares her perspective on the role businesses can play in supporting inclusion, as well as the importance of creating a culture where people feel seen and valued.

Speaking on the topic, Donna Richards said:

“As someone with a rainbow family, I have seen first-hand the importance of acceptance and understanding not only in workplaces, but in wider society. I understand how much it matters when people feel seen and supported, and equally, the impact when they do not. I am grateful that perspective shapes how I lead and how I think about the role businesses can and should play.

“We are proud that Carpenters Group continues to champion inclusion, not just in words but through action. Over the past year, this commitment has been recognised externally, most notably through our success at the British LGBT Awards.”

At the British LGBT Awards, Carpenters Group was recognised for its commitment to inclusion, reflecting the work happening across the business.

Donna also highlights the role of the legal and insurance sectors in supporting people at some of the most challenging moments in their lives, and the importance of ensuring everyone is treated fairly and with respect.

The article forms part of Carpenters Group’s wider commitment to inclusion, encouraging organisations to approach Pride with purpose and to continue building environments where people feel supported.
