Genasys Technologies’ ‘Tour de Insurtech’ returns for the third year in a row this September (11th – 18th), with over 50 riders from across the insurance industry expected to tackle 515 kilometres across seven stages, passing through London, Tunbridge Wells, Nottingham, Reading and – for the first time ever – Bath. With the closing date for entries fast approaching (2nd August), this is the final call to get involved.
The Tour de Insurtech originated when cycling enthusiast André Symes, Group CEO at Genasys, came up with the idea as a way of bringing people from across the industry together to reconnect after many months of lockdowns during the pandemic. The event, which has quickly become an annual staple in the industry calendar, is not just an excuse to break out the lycra. It’s also an opportunity for professionals to come together to share their passion outside of the usual conferences and calls.
Since its inaugural race in 2021, ‘Tour de Insurtech’ has consistently attracted 40+ participating riders each year. The Genasys team is ready for another excellent turnout in 2023 – even if some haven’t touched their bikes since 2022! This year, there will be a combination of loops and point-to-point stages, including the 60-kilometre ‘fast stage’ finale in the Herne Hill Velodrome, where budding racers can earn their bragging rights for the year.
André Symes, Genasys Technologies’ Group CEO, says:
“Tour de Insurtech is the perfect way to get outside and challenge yourself while mixing with peers to discuss common interests and issues in the insurance sector. At Genasys, we’re all about the impact of collaboration and strong partnerships to help change insurance and insurance technology for the benefit of the policyholders.
We know from our previous Tour de Insurtech events that coming together in this unusual setting, and encouraging open and agenda-free conversations, can act as a catalyst for ideas to evolve, with the potential to positively influence the evolution of our industry. We can’t wait to get going!”
Alongside the new riders facing the challenge in 2023, there will be returning faces from Genasys, Percayso Inform and Simplyhealth among others.
The deadline for entries is 2 August 2023. For sign-up information, including details of the carefully-planned cake stops, send an email to: tourdeinsurtech@genasystech.com.
