The Vella Group, one of the UK’s largest independent repair groups, has signed the Armed Forces Covenant and been presented with the Bronze Award in the Employer Recognition Scheme.

Signing the Armed Forces Covenant means that The Vella Group pledge to support people who either currently serve, or have previously served, in the armed forces on their journey into employment.

The Group will also actively support the employment of veterans and their families in our recruitment process and support our current employees who may be members of the Reserves to provide extra annual leave to undertake their duties.

Commenting on the Award, Managing Director Marc Holding said:

We recognise the sacrifice that military personnel and their families make to serve our country, and signing this covenant formalises our pledge to supporting the Armed Forces community.

By signing this agreement, we’re demonstrating that we will always endeavour to treat members of the Armed Forces community fairly, in business and commercial services, and will support Armed Forces charities and fundraising events.

We currently employ veterans, reservists, and partners of those who have, or currently, serve our country. By becoming a bronze member of the Employer Recognition Scheme, we’re pleased to firm up our continued commitment to employing and supporting ex- and current Armed Forces personnel.

The Group will be working with the Ministry of Defence to progress further to the Silver Award in the Employer Recognition Scheme early next year.
